Rear Kitchen RVs & Fifth Wheels

Why Choose a Rear Kitchen Layout?

The Rear Kitchen configuration is a favorite among couples and long-term RVers for three main reasons:

1. Unmatched Counter Space
Because the kitchen occupies the entire rear wall (and often wraps around the corners), you gain 30-50% more prep space than a standard island or galley kitchen. There is room for the coffee maker, the toaster, and the prep board without shuffling things around.

2. Open Living Areas
With the kitchen moved to the back, the center of the RV becomes a dedicated living room. This creates a more residential flow, allowing for comfortable conversation areas that aren't interrupted by someone doing dishes.

3. Flow and Function
In many Rear Kitchen Travel Trailers, the entry door is placed near the back, giving you direct access to the fridge and pantry without tracking dirt through the entire camper.
